“Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will.” W. Clement Stone You know that word we all love so much? Lesson. Ew. Lesson. I hate it actually. Lesson this. Lesson that. “You need to learn your lesson.” “I have learned my lesson.” “Dang, I guess I can’t learn my lesson.” I mean, I guess I don’t really hate the word lesson. I’m grateful for it. If we can see obstacles as lessons than we can learn from them and stop doing silly things over and over again. So what’s the lesson I’ve learned that I’m dying to share? It’s all about ACTION my friends. One of my challenges in this lifetime, like so many of us, is fun fear and awesome anxiety. And the Universe is lovingly guiding me beyond that, little by little and I’d love to share what I’ve learned. It’s quite simple actually but our human minds like to make things complicated. In my content state, I will have an inspired action come to mind. A new intuitive thought. Something simple to try, a person to call, an allergy test to take, you know, the usual. So I’ll have every good intention to do that thing. Sometimes I will and life will be great and magical. And then there is resistance. Resistance looks like the following. My mind comes online to give me every excuse as to why I can’t take my inspired action. “Jamie, you have to do the dishes instead of workout!” “Jamie, you seriously have got to rest and watch a movie instead of work on your business today.” Our mind likes to try to keep us safe by doing this but DON’T LISTEN TO IT. Especially if the original thought to do that thing came out of inspiration. The trick here is to remember that fear is not really keeping you safe, it just thinks it is. You are far safer out there existing in the world, following your bliss, than playing it safe at home. Your soul is being suffocated if you aren’t letting it play. Side note: if your desired action comes from a place of fear, I’d inspect it a little and be curious as to your intention to do it. You don’t ever need to take action out of fear. Fear is only coming from a place in your mind that is based on bad past experiences that it remembers and holds on to. Don’t let your mind trick you. Be smarter. You are smarter! You are infinite wisdom, love, stardust. Like the movie! Another side note: I’m not saying to drive yourself crazy by doing a ton of things. I believe our society likes to work harder and not smarter and I’m not an advocate of that. But if you feel that thing inside that is telling you that you have so much more potential and you haven’t even tapped into that well spring yet, then in that case, get out there and live. But make sure you maintain a balance. It IS ok to take a break and rest too. Just listen to yourself. You know best! So, how do you combat all of that mental mumbo jumbo? By taking action. Ask yourself or your guides or Goddess or Waldo or what have you, what the next step is and then follow that. Just do the next thing. Even if it feels uncomfortable. Even if it’s super teeny weenie. Actually, it probably will feel uncomfortable. Remember, it’s ALL IN YOUR MIND. Your inner guidance system knows everything that is best for you. Follow those inklings. Remind yourself what lights you up insight and DO THAT! Take action on that. I repeat, it’s ok if it’s scary. It’s ok if it’s scary! That doesn’t mean you aren’t supposed to do it. It just means that you have a lot of thought around that mental subject and you are feeling your thought. Just put one foot in front of the other and take that next ACTION. Because it’s in the action where the freedom lies. It’s in the action where the empowerment lies, the peace, the joy, and the expansiveness of who you are. Eventually that fear will turn to fairy dust and you’ll be like, what fear!? Then you’ll be writing blogs to tell everyone you know about it. You are capable of more than you can ever imagine. The only naysayer is your well-meaning brain. But why in the world would you listen to that anyway? Go out there and get em’ this week. What do you want? What does your heart want? And what’s the one next thing you can do to get it? Turn your mind off and just do it. It’s not as scary as your mind is making you think. Now. Go. Fly.
