I adore this quote. How much freedom is in that one sentence? I don’t have to go anywhere, do anything, find anything, spend any money, seek answers, or try to fix it all. I already HAVE IT. It’s already mine. All the peace and love and abundance and joy and whatever else you could ever want you already have.
You can have anything you want by just a shift in perspective. Nothing on the “outside” world matters. Because the “outside world” is subjective. Your view of something out there could be completely different than my view. Which means that my mind is just attaching an idea to an experience based on my past experiences. Our mind just logs things as we grow up. People mean well when they attempt to teach us things and sometimes they don’t. But all of these “things” are logged in our brain. As we experience the world as an adult, our brain looks through the lens of our old experiences. But who says this lens is the best lens for us, the most loving, healing peaceful lens? Our natural state is well being so, I bet if your thoughts don’t feel very good, it’s not.
The answer to that? Awareness. Be aware of when your thoughts to something feel uncomfortable and back off. Know that the love and peace you were born with as a baby is still in you. It doesn’t die. It’s eternal. It just gets hidden by your judgment of everything. Our mad thoughts can seem so real to us. Remind yourself they are not real. It’s just a thought. It could be different. There has to be another way to see this. And then get out of the way. It’s a passive way of approaching peace. Since we already have the peace, we don’t need to “find it”. We just need to allow it by calling the bluff on our thoughts, riding it out, having faith that love exists and then letting the love naturally rise to the surface. This is the truth.
It takes easy practice but it is well worth it to live in peace. You may be similar to me and be saying, “ Well, I’ve lived most of my life not knowing what that peaceful feeling feels like.” That’s ok It’s never too late to start. It’s always available to us matter how sick or depressed or anxious or upset you are. None of that matters since peace is a state of mind. A God given gift to us.
I’ve spent the last four years of my life not realizing I already had all that I was seeking. I was attempting to “fix” myself. I’ve learned a lot of really amazing techniques, met a huge amount of beautiful people devoted to helping others heal and learned a hell of a lot about myself. While I have no regrets, there is one thing I wish were different. My perspective on the whole thing. I wish I knew I was already that which I was seeking. But I’m grateful to know that now. And I’m adamant in spreading the world to tell you that you are too! I’m leaning now that there is nothing to “fix”. You are perfect as you. And when you can realize this, healing happens. Peace comes from acceptance, not constantly trying to fight who you are and where you are at. I had a beautiful person tell me the other day that sometimes you don’t have to try so hard to figure it all out and fix your ailments, flaws or short comings. When God or the Universe or whatever you believe in wants you to focus on those things for your growth, they will just naturally happen and unfold. There is nothing you have to “do”. I love that view. It takes the struggle out of it. Now you can just live.
So, for your sake and the sake of the world, lets do this together. Let’s stop listening to these horrible thoughts in our head that don’t feel good. Let’s question them. Let’s look them head on and laugh at them. Let’s condescend them. Let’s be open to being completely wrong about EVERYTHING we’ve ever believed in. Let’s be open to learning a new way. Open to the Universe surprising us with love. Will you join me?
